Healthy Habits For 2016

New Year...New You. Right? I'm looking forward to a New Year and want to incorporate healthier habits in 2016. Healthy habits for a happy life!


1. Eat one raw meal a day. Raw Vegan is not for everyone, including me, but consider adding more fruits and  vegetables by replacing one meal per day. Eating one raw meal means substituting a normal meal just simply fruits and vegetables. A great raw meal could be a salad or raw juice.

2. Meal-Prep or try to eat home cooked meals as much as possible. Meal prepping is a great way to cook home cooked meals. Try to take one night out of your week to prep lunch for at least a few days.

3. Get some type of work out 4-5 times per week. This is self-explanatory. At least 30 minutes of physical activity promotes a much healthier lifestyle.

4. Take care of your skin. Skin is the the largest organ and needs special care. Moisturizing, exfoliating, and wearing sunblock are all key here. It is also important to drink an abundance of water.

5. Relax and rejuvenate. Make time every day to un-wind. Healthy habits include taking a bath, reading a book, stretching, using the steam room or sauna. Tip: try to avoid your phone an hour before you go to sleep.

6. Reflect and soul search. Take real time out of your day to pray and or meditate. Visit a place of worship weekly. Visit a place that has special meaning to you. 

7. Take time to travel whenever possible. Whether it's a small getaway or Euro-trip, be spontaneous and don't pass up the opportunity to travel when available.
